Really funny, way better then I thought it would be especially because I'm not generally one for the romantic comedies. I usually find them stupid and predictable following cookie cutter formulas and generally insulting the viewers intelligence. Anyways this one was clever with a feasible storyline, good actors, really hilarious moments, gorgeous scenery, a male strip scene (ha) and well Betty White! What more do you need? Actually laughed out loud in a couple of scenes. Sandra B looks gorgeous especially nude, eat your heart out Jessie James.

I remember this movie being really good first time I saw it. This time through it was just Okay. It could be though  that because I watched it on TV and it was cut to shit for commercials the flow was gone. I'm also pretty sure some key scenes were missing. Anyways a good movie with some First Blood-ish moments towards then end. Mark Wahlberg is always nice to look at. Rounding up my rating due to ads.

~Last Movie I Watched- NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN~

I think pretty much everything has already been said about this movie. Javier's bad hair, the amazing acting, dark story, unconventional storytelling (that made me uncomfortable.) Yet somehow I missed watching this movie until now.

Based on the 2003 novel by Cormac McCarthy this is a modern western directed by brothers Joel and Ethan Coen. Who frustrated me by not allowing the audience to see the final showdown between Anton (Javier Bardem) and Llewelyn (Josh Brolin) After all that suspenseful cat and mouse chasing, then nothing. The ending had me saying seriously that's its?? Its unconcluded. Basically a frustrating but great movie.

~Last Movie I Watched- LIMITLESS~

 

I liked this a lot. Original story idea and Mmm Bradley Cooper. De Niro was kind of a non issue here and there were a few problems with some of the ending scenes being very silly (not a very "secure" house what with the bad guys getting in and the windows being so breakable) Anyways I would love a few of these pills, I would love to be able to access more of my brain, have more energy, learn a language, figure shit out.

~Last Movie I Watched- PAUL~

I watched this because I'm a huge Simon Pegg fan with Sean Of The Dead being one of my all time favourite movies. Here he's again teamed with his partner in crime Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) and with Seth Rogan as the voice of Paul the alien I was expecting. This was funny, especially if you're a science fiction movie nerd (like me) but it wasn't as great as I was hoping or expecting. Cute, funny story and I appreciated all the homage paid to movies like ET, Star Wars (cantina song) Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Alien etc. However even with all this going for it, it still just didn't quite hit the mark for me.

~Last Movie I watched- TRANSPORTER 3~

 

Ack this was so good; in a cheesy, action movie with a yummy star kinda way. Super cool fight scenes and amazing car chases. Statham takes his shirt off several times and is just bad-ass sexy. Refreshing to watch an action movie that doesn't take place in America. Here we are in Budapest and his love interest is Russian, unique looking girl. Bottom line fun, with nice scenery :)

~Last Movie I Watched -THE PIANIST~

 

This was so good, not exactly uplifting but just an amazing story I couldn't take my eyes off of. Directed by Roman Polanski with Adrien Brody giving his Oscar winning (and worthy) performance of Poland's most acclaimed pianist Wladyslaw Szpilman and his horrific unflinching view of life as a Jew in 1939 Warsaw under Nazi occupation. The fact that he survived through this time is miraculous, heartbreaking and no to be forgotten.

Adrien Brody won best actor oscar for his role, his oscar speech is actually really amazing too, you might remember him kissing Halle Berry.

~Last movie I watched-THE WAY BACK~

An incredible story (these men escaped a Russian gulag and WALKED from Siberia to India, I mean come on.) Anyways...

Based on the memoir THE LONG WALK which was written in 1959. I had really been looking forward to this movie after reading the amazing true story and maybe my expectations were too high but I came away a little disappointed. Actually preferring the book over the movie (except for the lack of Colin Ferrell)  

The movie itself was very long movie and kind of jumped around a lot. Granted they had a lot of material to cover. Ed Harris was excellent as American Mr Smith (love him) and Colin Ferrell (love him a bit more) was awesome as a tattooed gang-style prisoner, with an amazing Russian accent. As a point of interest his character is not in the book. The scenes in the blizzard and the Gobi desert stand out to me and are brutal but well done.

~Last Movie I watched- KISS THE BRIDE~

From 2002 this was an okay movie, kinda cute, slice of life surrounding a family and a the wedding of one of the daughters. It had a huge cast of which I recognized almost all the faces  from assorted movie and TV projects. Oddly the mother and father of the bride here are Adrian and Paulie of Rocky fame (Talia Shire & Burt Young). This was just weird to me and felt ...well wrong. Alysess Milano as a lesbian on the other hand...

~Last Movie I Watched: DINOSAUR~

Another movie I watched (many times) while my 3 year old nephew was visiting. He loved this, what boy doesn't love dinosaurs? I liked it, the story was very similar to Ice Age but I'm told this came out first. Interesting use of computer graphics with real scenery (water, trees, land etc.) Some scary scenes.

 Official IMDB Synopsis: During an attack on a pack of Iguanodon, an egg is separated and ends up with the possession of a group of lemurs. The lemurs care for this egg and the young creature born from it, which they call Aladar. When a meteor shower hits earth, Aladar and his family must leave their homeland. Away from home and as close to danger as they have ever been, they meet up with a huge group of dinosaurs, led by Kron and Bruton. All together they are trying to reach the nesting grounds, but it's not going to be easy.

~Last movie I watched JACKASS 3D~

My brother persuaded me to watch this when he was visiting. I'm not a huge fan of the Jackass gross out comedy, I generally alternate between laughing, saying  "no way"  and wanting to puke (which I guess is the general idea). With this one we watched the jet scene several times, OMG funny but I almost vomited with the "sweat suit" I can still barely think about it. The shitting train and duck hunting was pretty funny too. Sad to see Ryan Dunn in his last movie. Remember him with that matchbox car up his ass in movie #1.

Official IMDB Synopsis: 3D' opens with the entire cast all lined up, each wearing a different color of the rainbow, in front of a rainbow colored background, each in turn being attacked in various ways. Some of the footage is slowed down for maximal effect. This is repeated again at the end of the movie with additional explosions mixed in with gallons of water to wash away the cast- chaos is resumed. Throughout the movie the team are subjected to the usual foray of physical abuse from team members or perform hilarious stunts (including some of the more stomach turning stunts such as the Sweat suit cocktail, Toy Train Eruption and Poo Cocktail Supreme - not for the weak stomached!).

~Last Movie I watched:THE FOX & THE HOUND~

I watched this with my 3 year old nephew (several times) while he was visiting however in the end I think I may have enjoyed it more then he did. It really made me laugh. Usual Disney fare but great message and hilarious dog antics.

~Last movie I watched- CEDAR RAPIDS~

Official IMDB Synopsis: Tim Lippe has no idea what he's in for when he's sent to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to represent his company at an annual insurance convention, where he soon finds himself under the "guidance" of three convention veterans.

I only watched this because my brother was visiting and he wanted to see it. I didn't really find it all that funny, it tried too hard to be another Hangover type movie. Speaking of which the dentist form The Hangover has the lead role here and plays almost the same character. Anne Heche is the romantic lead (sort of) She still looks good but I couldn't figure out her role? Also a cameo from Sigourney Weaver who looks fantastic as she hasn't altered herself and is aging normally with facial expressions and all, nice to see. For the most part a half completed movie, it tried but didn't make it. Some funny moments though; John C Reily is foul mouthed and just hilarious and the pool scene with the garbage can killed me.

~Last Movie I Watched: TRIAL BY FIRE~

This is one of those B movies that you find yourself stuck into on a Sunday afternoon when you're hungover. It actually wasn't that bad; lots of hunky firemen, moderately bad special effects, just the right amount of cheese and Brooke Burns (who I may have just developed a girl crush on.) She looks amazing here and isn't afraid to get dirty, obviously doing most of the training scenes herself - I do remember from her Baywatch days that she was a triathlete, not that I watched Baywatch or anything.
