~WILTW (Van Damn edition)~

Here's what I loved this week...

  • Well in all honesty there wasn't a whole lot to love this week. I live just outside of Vancouver and our hockey team losing to Boston was the least of the problems as I watched a riot rage downtown for 5+ hours afterwards. There just aren't any words. Still I've tried to find a few bright moments amidst the rubble. See ya next year Canucks, it was a great season!

Thanks Lou!

We also lost Betty Fox this week. Which just makes me want to cry, what a special lady.

~WHAT I LOVED THIS WEEK~

What I loved this week...

  • Well I loved the Vancouver Canucks this week especially after their nail-biting hometown win over Boston in game 5. Afterwards 100,000 Canucks fans took to the streets of downtown Vancouver to celebrate, the city has gone crazy. What a great game. Way to go Lou!

  • I kinda loved the MTV movie awards otherwise known as the Twilight awards. I didn't love the host though, he was NOT funny although I did enjoy the opening Hangover takeoff skit. Anyways Rob was in a good mood (possibly drunk)  kissing Taylor Lautner and cracking jokes and then of course we got the much awaited Breaking Dawn Trailer.

....and not so much

  • Games 3 &4 of the Stanley Cup playoffs were PAINFUL to watch as a Canucks fan. However I kinda gained a new appreciation for Boston goalie Tim Thomas. He does everything but stand on his head in goal and you gotta love a goalie that fights. Awesome! Now I just hope he sucks for the next 2 games.

~WHAT I LOVED THIS WEEK~

-Or a pessimist tries to be positive

  • Playoffs Hockey-

  • Hockey fever takes over Vancouver; business's closing early, street parties, the entire city smiling and dressed in blue and green. Approx seventy thousand people descend on downtown Vanc Saturday night to watch the game on big screens and celebrate 2 home wins over Boston. Very reminiscent of the Olympics.

    • In other local (Hockey) news; Bono gets picked up hitchhicking in West Vancouver by Gilbert Brule of the Edmonton Oilers. This story is so random and awesome. You can bet everyone is stopping for hitchhickers now, never know who you'll find.

    ....and not so much

    • The death of Bowen Island's Wolf Dog. A very sad story for everyone concerned ...especially the wolf. Wild animals (and hybrids) do not make good pets people.

    ~WHAT I LOVED THIS WEEK~

-Or a pessimist tries to be positive

    • Playoffs hockey- Damn good hockey regardless but this year my home team the Vancouver Canucks are off to the Stanley cup playoffs for the first time in 30 years!

    • Stedman's speech to his "sweetheart" Oprah on one of her last shows, you could hear the whole audience collectively say awwww.

Doomsday-NOT The world didn't end on May21 however because I thought it was going to I may have done a few things things I now wish I hadn't

        ....and not so much

Oprah's series finale-Who's going to tell me how ot live my best life now? How will I know if my poo is okay? And how will I get a justified cry in everyday at 4:00? Bye Oprah

        ~ WHAT I LOVED THIS WEEK~

...Or a pessimist tries to find some positive

        • The season finale of Castle -three little words said twice and a bullet shot in the cemetery. Excellent double crossing, suspenseful and romantic finale. Can't wait to see how this plays out.

        •  Baby Eagle chick gets rescued from the fishing line it was tangled in, which had been used to build its nest. When we set our minds to it us humans can do amazing, selfless things.

        • The sun came out and we smiled, played in our gardens and took off our jackets...finally. I'm in Canada people this is a big deal!

        • May 2-4 Long weekend

        .........and  not so much

        • The death of Macho Man Randy Savage

        • The season finale of Greys Anatomy. Dull. Especially when compared to their usual exhilarating finales. The shooter, Izzy's cancer, and George's faceless death.
